4M Green Science Weather Science Kit

4M Green Science Weather Science Kit: Explore the Weather, Ages 8+

What makes a cloud form, and what does static electricity have to do with lightning? The 4M Green Science Weather Science Kit gives curious kids a hands-on way to explore these questions. From a desktop water cycle to experiments with air currents, it turns familiar weather topics into things children can investigate for themselves.

What's Inside

A weather science activity kit with instructions for exploring:

• Static electricity and the science behind lightning.
• Cloud formation, including a cloud-in-your-palm activity.
• A desktop water cycle model to investigate evaporation and condensation.
• Air currents and how wind forms.
• The greenhouse effect and acid rain.

Why Kids (and Parents) Love It

• Connects science to everyday questions: gives children a starting point for understanding the clouds, wind and rain they notice outside.
• Makes abstract ideas easier to explore: hands-on activities bring topics such as condensation and static electricity off the page.
• Encourages observation: children can describe what happens, ask questions and discuss what they think is going on.
• Offers a focus for shared discovery: a weather-themed activity for curious kids and the grown-ups learning alongside them.

Good to Know Before You Buy

• Recommended for children aged 8 years and over.
• This is an experiment kit, not a weather-monitoring station.
• Check the instructions before starting each activity for setup, supervision guidance and any additional household materials required.
• The activities explore weather and environmental science concepts; they do not recreate a real thunderstorm.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age is this kit suitable for?

The recommended age is 8 years and over. Follow the instructions and supervision guidance for each activity.

What can children explore with it?

The activities cover static electricity, cloud formation, the water cycle, air currents, the greenhouse effect and acid rain.

Does it make real lightning?

The lightning-related activity explores static electricity to introduce the science behind lightning. It is not a lightning generator.

Is this a weather station?

No. It is a hands-on weather science experiment kit rather than a station for monitoring outdoor weather conditions.

Can it be used for a school project?

The weather topics offer starting points for a project about clouds, evaporation, condensation or air currents. Check the activity instructions against your child's project requirements before choosing an experiment.

Do we need anything else to get started?

Read the included instructions before setting up. These will explain what each activity requires, including any household materials you need to gather.

Who makes it, and is it a good gift?

The kit is made by 4M and belongs to its Green Science range. It is a thoughtful gift option for children aged 8 and over who enjoy asking how the natural world works.
