Mindbogglers Gold 1500 Piece Great Wave Puzzle

1500 Pieces. The Great Wave. Gold Foil on the Puzzle and the Box. — Mindbogglers Gold

The Mindbogglers Gold Great Wave is a 1500-piece jigsaw puzzle of The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai — one of the most recognised artworks ever created. The cresting wave with Mount Fuji in the background has been accented with precision-placed gold foil highlights, adding depth and lustre to Hokusai’s bold lines and colours. Unusually for the range, the gold foil treatment extends to the box itself — making this as impressive to give as it is to build. Assembled size: 841 x 665 mm. Part of Hinkler’s Mindbogglers Gold range.

About the Mindbogglers Gold Range

Mindbogglers Gold puzzles are Hinkler’s premium jigsaw line. Gold foil highlights are applied selectively to enhance key elements of the image rather than uniformly coating it, creating a more refined result than a standard foil finish. For The Great Wave, the foil treatment is a natural fit — Hokusai’s original woodblock print used metallic Prussian blue and bold graphic outlines that translate particularly well to a gold-accented reproduction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it a good gift?

Yes — one of the strongest gift options in the Mindbogglers range. The Great Wave is instantly recognisable to art lovers, Japan enthusiasts, and puzzle fans alike, and the gold foil box presentation makes it feel like a premium gift from the moment it’s unwrapped. A 1500-piece build is a substantial multi-session challenge, and the finished puzzle — Hokusai’s wave with gold accents — is genuinely worth framing. A standout birthday or Christmas gift for adults and older children who appreciate iconic art.
