Clementoni Mechanics Laboratory Engineering of Machines

Clementoni Mechanics Laboratory: Build More Than 50 Working Models

What makes a crane lift or a car steer? The Clementoni Mechanics Laboratory Engineering of Machines kit lets curious builders explore the answers one model at a time. With over 250 interchangeable components, children can work from simple mechanisms towards more complex builds, discovering how levers, gears and pulleys work together.

What's Inside

• Over 250 interchangeable components for building more than 50 models of increasing complexity.
• An electric motor for motorised builds.
• A full-colour illustrated assembly manual.
• Access to a free companion app for smartphones and tablets, with 3D instructions and animations.

Why Kids (and Parents) Love It

• See mechanics in action: Build mechanisms rather than just read about them, exploring levers, gears and pulleys through hands-on construction.
• A challenge that grows: Start with models such as a torsion machine or tower crane, then tackle more complex projects including a helicopter, motorised crane and electric-motor car.
• Explore how a car works: The car model features rack-and-pinion steering and a mechanical gearbox.
• Practise patient problem-solving: Following assembly steps gives children opportunities to develop manual skills, logical thinking and creativity.
• Build together: Pick a model, follow the instructions and talk through what each mechanism does as the machine takes shape.

Good to Know Before You Buy

• This is a construction kit to assemble, rather than a ready-built vehicle.
• The models vary in complexity, so some builds will take more time and patience than others.
• The printed manual offers an alternative to using the companion app; check app compatibility with your device before relying on the digital instructions.
• Battery requirements are not specified in the current product information. Check the packaging or manual before preparing for motorised play.
• Check the manufacturer's age guidance and warnings on the packaging before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many models can you build?

The kit provides more than 50 model-building projects of increasing complexity using over 250 interchangeable components.

What kinds of machines can children make?

Projects include a torsion machine, tower crane, helicopter, motorised crane and a car with a working electric motor. The car also features rack-and-pinion steering and a mechanical gearbox.

Does it include building instructions?

Yes. A full-colour illustrated manual guides assembly, and the free companion app offers 3D instructions and animations for smartphones and tablets.

What can children learn from the kit?

The builds introduce mechanical principles such as levers, gears and pulleys, while giving children practice in following instructions, assembling components and solving construction problems.

Does it need batteries?

The kit includes an electric motor, but battery type, quantity and inclusion are not specified in the current product information. Please check the packaging or manual.

Who makes this kit?

It is made by Clementoni and designed, developed and manufactured in Italy.

Is it a good gift for a child who enjoys building?

It is a thoughtful option for a child interested in construction and how machines work. Check the age guidance on the packaging and consider whether they enjoy following multi-step building projects.
