4M Science in Action Electric Plane Launcher – Johnco

4M Electric Plane Launcher: Build, Launch and Put Your Paper Planes to the Test

One fold can change a flight. Build the 4M Science in Action Electric Plane Launcher, slip a paper plane between its spinning wheels and watch it take off at up to 40 km/h. Then try a different design. Will it travel further, fly faster or pull off a better trick?

This hands-on science project turns paper-plane experiments into a chance to explore energy transfer and engineering, with adjustable legs that let you change the launch angle.

What’s Inside the Project

• A build-it-yourself electric paper plane launcher.
• A motor-driven, two-wheel launching mechanism.
• Height-adjustable legs for experimenting with different launch angles.

The current product information does not provide an itemised contents list or confirm whether paper is included.

Why Kids (and Parents) Love It

• A science principle you can see: the spinning wheels store energy and transfer some of it to the paper plane as it passes between them.
• A reason to keep experimenting: compare paper-plane designs to see which travel furthest, fly fastest or perform the best acrobatics.
• More than one variable to test: adjust the legs to explore how launch angle changes a flight.
• Build before you launch: assembly is part of the project, not just a step before the fun begins.

Good to Know Before You Buy

Important warning from the existing product information: This is not a toy. This is intended to be an educational kit that demonstrates a science principle in a fun way. All assembly and operation of the project should be done and supervised by an adult or children aged 14 and up. Don’t aim at eyes or face.

The stated launch speed is up to 40 km/h, not a guaranteed speed for every paper-plane design. Battery requirements and whether batteries are included are not specified in the current product information.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the electric plane launcher work?

Two rotating wheels store energy as they spin. When a paper plane passes between them, some of that energy transfers to the plane and propels it forwards.

How fast can it launch a paper plane?

The product information states a launch speed of up to 40 km/h.

Can you change the launch angle?

Yes. Adjust the height of the launcher’s legs to send your planes off at different angles and compare the results.

Can you try different paper-plane designs?

Yes. Testing different folds and designs is part of the activity. Compare distance, speed and acrobatics to find out how each design behaves.

Is adult supervision needed?

Yes. Follow the warning above for assembly and operation, and never aim the launcher at anyone’s eyes or face.

Does it need batteries?

The current product information does not specify battery requirements or whether batteries are supplied. Please confirm these details before purchasing if you need everything ready for a gift.

Who makes the kit?

The kit is made by 4M and is listed as part of the Science in Action range, with Johnco in the product name.
