About Gecko Run

Gecko Run is Thames Kosmos’ vertical marble run system — tracks mount directly onto walls, windows, tiles, doors, or any smooth flat surface using nano-adhesive technology, keeping the run off the floor and easy to store when not in use. The system has no support structures, so tracks can go higher with fewer pieces. Every expansion pack integrates with the Starter Set and with each other, letting the marble run grow over time. The Spinners add a mechanical interaction — gear wheels that spin and interact — to complement the looping, weaving, twisting, and bouncing elements available in other packs.

Do I need the Starter Set first?

Yes — the Spinners Expansion Pack requires the Gecko Run Starter Set or the Gecko Run Big Box as the base. The expansion adds the spinner gear wheels and additional track sections on top of the existing system; it does not include the full track foundation or all the marbles needed to run a complete course.

How do the two gear wheels work together?

Each gear wheel spins independently when activated by a passing marble. Placed separately in the run, each produces its own spinning effect. Placed in proximity so their teeth mesh, the two gears interact — when one spins, it drives the other in the opposite direction. This gear-pair configuration produces a visually engaging double-spin effect and introduces children to the basic principle of gear transmission: how rotational force transfers between interlocking gears.

Will it leave marks on my wall?

No — the nano-adhesive pads hold firmly to smooth flat surfaces (walls, windows, tiles, glass, doors) and remove cleanly without sticky residue or surface damage. The pads are repositionable, so you can adjust the layout of your marble run without marks.
