The "STEM CLUB" Learning Pathway

This bundle is unique because it follows the "Source to Socket" journey:

  • Step 1 (Source): Use the Thames & Kosmos Wind Power kit to capture energy from the wind (mechanical to electrical).

  • Step 2 (Storage/Usage): Connect those concepts to the Snap Circuits Green Energy Lab to see how that power moves through a circuit board (electronics).

The Ideal Capacity: 4 to 6 Students 

Because this bundle contains two major kits (the Thames & Kosmos Turbine and the Snap Circuits Green Energy Lab), the best way to run this is by splitting a small group into two "Engineering Teams."


Team Breakdown (Station Rotation)

To maximize engagement, I recommend a "Station Rotation" model for a group of 6 students:

  • Team A: The Turbine Engineers (3 Students)

    • Student 1: Lead Builder (Follows manual)

    • Student 2: Aerodynamics Specialist (Adjusts blade pitch/angles)

    • Student 3: Data Logger (Uses the Energy Auditor Worksheet)

  • Team B: The Grid Specialists (3 Students)

    • Student 1: Circuit Architect (Places Snap modules)

    • Student 2: Power Manager (Handles the solar cell/hand crank)

    • Student 3: Quality Control (Checks connections and polarity)

Halfway through the session (after 25-30 mins), the teams swap stations.
